Monica is the director of Knowledge Transfer and Exchange and an associate scientist at the Institute for Work & Health. She is also an assistant professor (part-time) in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impacts in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University. She holds an MSc in community health and epidemiology from Queen’s University and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Toronto.
In more than 15 years of experience in the public health sector at all levels of government, including with Toronto Public Health, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and Health Canada, Monica has worked to improve health by using research evidence to make better decisions about public health policies and programs.
Monica’s community and volunteer roles have included leadership roles in a variety of educational, youth, community, and health-related organizations. She has been a community member on the quality committee at Sherbourne Health since 2016.
